Poggenpohl Showroom Opens in Back Bay

April 30, 2024

A sophisticated new showroom now resides in the historic Saunders Building at 13 Park Plaza in Boston’s coveted Back Bay neighborhood. The newly constructed space is home to a unique series of kitchen displays curated by Poggenpohl, the leading brand for luxurious kitchen architecture made in Germany. Corderman & Company, a construction management firm in Boston, is grateful to have been engaged in the transformation of the pre-existing space into a captivating exhibit showcasing the highest caliber of craftsmanship and design.

This new presentation of Poggenpohl products at Park Plaza marks the company’s 10th showroom in the United States. Corderman’s involvement in providing pre-construction and construction management services supported this exciting expansion.

David Corderman, Founder of Corderman & Company, offered a thoughtful reflection on the firm’s engagement in the project: “Corderman & Company had the recent pleasure of participating in the construction management of Poggenpohl’s Boston showroom. The journey invited a special reunion with Mick Ricereto, an exceptionally creative interior designer & product designer, and Richard Speer, of Preferred Resources, who orchestrated the intersection and collaboration of amazing professionals in the execution of a Poggenpohl masterpiece showroom. The very essence of the design vision was ultimately defined by seven kitchen display presentations that echo a commitment to Poggenpohl’s precision craftsmanship and stewardship of inspiration since 1892. The Corderman team extends our gratitude for the invitation to share in the Poggenpohl story!”

Gerry Andrews, an experienced Corderman Superintendent, helped streamline incredible coordination efforts required for the install of Poggenpohl’s kitchen sets.

His dedication to the project is evident in the attention to detail exercised in the construction of the space, the exemplary management of trade partners, deliveries and installations, as well as the simultaneous support of Corderman’s safety mission. He expressed his gratitude, noting that “We as a company take great pride in building out such a beautiful showroom for an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high-end cabinetry and products. We’re also very grateful to have had the opportunity to build this space in the Saunders Building, one of Boston’s more historical and elegant buildings.”

Also engaged in the Poggenpohl Showroom construction was Corderman Assistant Project Manager, Lisa Borelli, who offered her 12+ years of experience in the industry to support the successful completion of the space. Luis Martinez, Laborer at Corderman & Company, maintained an exceptionally clean and safe workspace, promoting company safety standards and ensuring quality and coordination across the job site and trades. Likewise, Lewis Hopkins & Victor Cavero, part of the Corderman Trucking Division, and Dave MacNeil, Director of Field Operations, further ensured that the site operated smoothly and efficiently, a feat which included the safe delivery of custom, high-end products.

Corderman Carpentry, a division of the firm, simultaneously supported the precise and attentive installation of several features throughout the space. Their involvement and input helped to elevate the showroom, further infusing technical and refined skill sets into the construction of the Poggenpohl studio.

Poggenpohl’s mission to create a quality product and establish a client driven foundation within the brand is shared wholeheartedly with Corderman & Company’s own elemental beliefs implemented throughout the firm. In 2002, David Corderman founded the company with the intention of reintroducing a fundamentally client service-oriented approach to the construction industry. The confluence of attention to personal relationships and partnerships as well as an impeccable consideration of quality and performance has been integral in the company’s 20+ years in the industry.

Corderman & Company is excited to showcase the firm’s expertise in tandem with Poggenpohl’s values, expectations, and exquisite design concepts. The dream-like kitchen sets in the stunning new showroom are more than enough to allure Park Plaza window shoppers and city-goers in to take a closer look. A project process defined by phenomenal partnerships, extensive communication and collaboration, in-depth industry knowledge, and quality work can be credited for the success of this story.
