Construction Safety Week

As part of Construction Safety Week, Corderman & Company hosted the firm’s annual safety meeting which emphasized our ongoing commitment to safety, prioritizing the well-being of everyone on our job sites. This year's event was particularly insightful and impactful, thanks to the engaging presentations by Brian Stevens and Amanda Ludeking from Contractors Risk Management, Inc. (CRM).

Brian's session took a data-driven approach to reviewing Corderman & Company's safety program and initiatives over the past year. Through a comprehensive analysis of weekly CRM safety audits, Brian shared Corderman & Company’s success in achieving ZERO high hazard observations - a rarity in the industry, as well as emphasized positive trends in our unwavering dedication to building robust safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety awareness across our Corderman job sites.

Amanda's presentation on mental health in the construction industry was a much-needed reminder of the importance of prioritizing the well-being of our team, colleagues, family, and friends. Her insightful perspective shed light on the unique challenges and stressors faced by construction professionals, and offered practical strategies for promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and providing support resources.

An interactive portion of the safety meeting asked each employee to write down their reasons for staying safe. The following is a list of some of their reasons:

My family, my dogs depend on me, to come back home to family, to live longer, to provide for my mother and niece, for myself/kids/wife/family/life, to make it home to family, who likes to get hurt?, I love my self and family, for the day I can retire, for my family, I’ve got a lot of plans left to do, enjoy P-town with co-workers, family, working out/pets/family, to go home with no injuries, to see family and friends, to go home to my pets.

We look forward to continuing to empower our Corderman & Company team with the knowledge and tools necessary to create a safer, healthier, and more sustainable work environment for all. Remember, we are safer together.
