Women in Construction Week 2024

Corderman & Company kicked off Women in Construction Week by attending a breakfast social organized by Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Construction Management Club. Emily Thornton and Serena Kauffman (Assistant Project Managers) and Caitlin O’Brien (Director of Financial Operations) had the opportunity to meet and network with current students, alumni, and an array of other incredible women in the industry.

Hannah Corderman, Strategy & Innovation Manager at Corderman & Company, stands in front of a class of students at Tynan Elementary School. She is reading a book and showing the students the photos.

The celebrating didn’t stop there! A group of women also visited the Tynan Elementary School in South Boston. While there, they read “Girls Can Be Engineers,” a book by Jamila H. Lindo intended to inspire the next generation of girls to pursue historically male dominated professions.

The children were enthralled by the yellow safety vest and hard hat that the group brought and had tons of questions to ask. Many recalled the year prior, when the Corderman team had visited for a reading of the prequel to this year’s book. The team is looking forward to continuing this tradition in years to come!
